Rolling element bearings are standardised machine units. They transmit forces, moments and rotations, including the guidance of shafts and spindles. Transmission of forces and movements generate friction.
Such frictional resistance proportionally increases torque and thus generating additional undesirable heat gain. Any reduction in frictional resistance minimises these criteria. This directly reduces the required input power torque of a machine, thereby enabling a more compact design, higher efficiency and a simple construction of machines.
